"Sick Water? The Central Role of Wastewater Management in Sustainable Development"
"More people die as a result of polluted water than are killed by all forms of violence, including wars." This statistic, presented in the introduction to Sick Water? includes the 1.8 million children under five who die annually from water-related disease. Investments in appropriate remedies for this urgent problem can pay dividends that are not only life-saving, but have the potential for creating new economic opportunities.
