» Mentoring and Internships for Pre-College Students

WaterCAMPWS Internship Program, WaterCIP, is a six week summer program providing high school students research laboratory experience in real-world water purification problems. High school students will be paired and work directly with a WaterCAMPWS research mentor in engineering, physics, chemistry or geology. Interns will be expected to work on a specific research project, write a research summary and share their results with the WaterTEC and WaterCLEAR Programs as well as other WaterCAMPWS activities and seminars. Interns will receive a summer stipend. Please contact WaterCAMPWS, watercampws@uiuc.edu, for more information.


Requirements

  1. Must be currently a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school

  2. Have a minimum of one year of chemistry

  3. Have an interest in water purification research

  4. Submit two recommendations from teachers

  5. The application materials deadline is March 6, 2009. Applications will be considered for next year's enrollment.
